President Obama's First 100 Days Forum

The Youngstown State University Black Faculty and Staff Association will be hosting a panelist discussion on "The First 100 Days of Barack Obama's Presidency." The organization has chosen April 30th,, 2009 at 5:30 to 7:30 PM on the campus of YSU at the Debartolo Auditorium in Debartolo Hall to serve as the date, time, and location for this event.

The panelists currently include are:

  • Mayor Jay Williams of Youngstown
  • Jim Graham, President of UAW Local 1112
  • Clifford Scott, Director of YMHA
  • Molly Seals, Senior VP of Human Resources and Learning for Catholic Healthcare Partner's Eastern Division
  • Veronika Dolar, Ph.D. Candidate of Economics at CSU
  • Dr. Paul Carr, Author and Professor of Education at YSU
  • Dr. Keith Lepak, Professor of Political Science at YSU

    Our moderator will be Dr. Victor Wan-Tatah. These panelists will discuss topics from economics, politics and international relations as it relates to the “First 100 Days” of President Obama's policies.

  • Accomplishments of BFSA Members

    Bonnie Laing, assistant professor, Social Work, will have an article entitled "A Critique of Rothman's and other Standard Community Organizing Models: Toward Developing A Culturally Proficient Community Organizing Framework" published in Community Development: The Journal of the Community Development Society.

    Sylvia J. Imler, assistant professor, Counseling and Special Education, presented her research entitled "Becoming Culturally Responsive: A Need for Pre-service Special Education Teachers" at the Council for Exceptional Children 2009 Convention and Expo in Seattle in April.

    Our BFSA members are a diverse list of accomplished intelligent individuals that are constantly pushing themselves to make greater achievements, contributions to the University and our community.
